An amazing bar atmosphere with rather weak drinks: Imperial Bar @ Hotel Imperial (7. April 2023)
While it is a good 10 years ago since I’ve last stayed at the Hotel Imperial, I have actually never visited their bar. Turns out, the place is quite nice. Definitely very traditional and definitely very interesting in terms of interior design. The staff is friendly, attentive, and swift.
I went for “The Kiss (Vienna Gin Klimt edition, limoncello, fentiman’s tonic, berries, 23k gold leaves)” (EUR 19.00) and I must say, the drink looked absolutely stunning. I mean, pretty. Well, unfortunately, the taste wasn’t really able to compete with that.
Despite its prettiness, it did not even remotely align with the taste. Not that the taste was bad, but the whole thing just didn’t really taste like anything.
But the interior of the bar is absolutely lovely, which definitely makes it worth visiting the place.
All in all, I can recommend you to pay the Imperial Bar a visit. Traditional, classy, very Viennese. In terms of drinks, I would probably go somewhere else though.
