One of this hipster places, claiming to be better than it is: Restaurant Betty’n Caty (15. April 2023)
Hyped places is a typical thing for Berlin. And Betty’n Caty is exactly this – a hyped place. The place is crowded, the interior is somewhat nice, but they are trying to fit too many people into this small space, so, it feels like you’re in a little cage like animals. Not the most pleasant experience. On top of that, the service is … different. Our waitress was friendly, but frankly, and I usually try to avoid commenting on anything else, but the service quality, but it felt like you were an intruder into her space when she took your order.
In any case, I went for the “pulled pork sandwich” (EUR 15.50), which was only offered on a very well hidden board on top of the kitchen. Frankly, it was okay. But it was not EUR 15.50 okay. I mean, that’s Zurich, not Berlin!
The “avocado, lemon, olive oil” (EUR 4.00) was fine. I mean, it was avocado with lemon and olive oil, so, it wasn’t anything truly spectacular, but it was fine.
So, all in all, the Betty’n Caty isn’t a place I would frequent again. Sure, full of hip people, but not something I would need to experience again.
