Absolutely overrated and far from VIP service: 1OAK Lounge (27. April 2023)
I was looking for a place close to my hotel where I could smoke a shisha shortly after arrival, and the 1OAK Lounge was recommended to me, so I figured I give it a try. Frankly, the place is vibrant, but it also has its “own audience”. There are quite a few ‘professional ladies’ in the area, which were super active until my friend arrived. Impressive, how persistent they are, though!
The “double apple shisha” (250.00 AED) is quite nice, but goes bad after two hours of non-stop smoking. Not surprisingly, though. In any case, it is enjoyable to drink a “corona” (65.00 AED) on the side.
The shisha staff is generally friendly and makes sure you have everything you need and want. The rest of the staff is super friendly as well. The only one, who wasn’t friendly was the lady, who is responsible for the table allocation. After having been at the table for a good 45 minutes, I was told to move since “she needed the table”. This is in thus far fascinating, since they mentioned specifically that they would take care of me as a VIP guest (probably, because I was referred by the hotel). So, the VIP guest experience did not work at all.
