Still a safe and sound option for a lovely dinner: Restaurant Kazo @ Le Méridien Riyadh (2. May 2023)
I’ve been to the Kazo a few times already, and every time I liked the dishes I tried. Today, I started with a “hot and sour soup (chicken, carrot, fungus, bamboo shoot, tofu, spring onion)” (39.10 SAR), which was not only quite a large portion, but it also turned out to be quite delicious in terms of flavour profile.
The “young papaya salad (string beans, tomato, cilantro, toasted peanut, som tam dressing)” (43.70 SAR) was overall enjoyable as well. There were a bit too many sprouts and not too much papaya, but other than that, it was enjoyable.
The “kimchi cauliflower fried rice” (20.70 SAR) was generally nice, but it felt like a bit overpriced compared to the other dishes.
For some reason, I got a nice “mango sorbet” in the end as a palate cleanser on the house, which was quite a nice and surprising moment.
All in all, the Kazo remains a good restaurant, which offers good food in a nice atmosphere with friendly and swift service. Booking in advance is not really necessary as about 80% of the hotel guests are actually dining in the lounge.
