An absolutely delicious and lovely experience in the gardens of Champagne: Restaurant Le Jardin Les Crayères (21. May 2023)

| July 21, 2023 | 0 Comments

After a visit at the Joseph Perrier champagne yard, it was time for lunch. There are not too many options in that area, but thanks to the Guide Michelin app, I found the Le Jardin Les Crayères as a Bib Gourmand place. It is highly recommended that you book in advance and call (as we did) since the place was absolutely booked out.

I went for the “pâté en croûté volaille, champignons, foie gras, pickles de légumes” (EUR 29.00) to start and while the terrine was okay, the reduction with which it was served was to die for. It was so intense, so aromatic, so delicious, it was just hard to not lick the plate clean.

The “entrecôte de veau, tomme des Ardennes, jus au cidre” (EUR 35.00) with “French Fries with thyme flavour” was a bit different than I had expected. It felt more like a steak with raclette cheese on top. And I suppose, to some degree, it was exactly that. In any case, the meat was rather well-cooked (a bit too much for my personal gusto) and the layer of cheese made it a rather heavy bite. Again, it went well with that jus they added to the dish. The fries were alright – nothing exciting, but alright.

The “Cosmo” (EUR 13.00) was a refreshing drink, but it didn’t feel like an alcoholic beverage.

The place is super lovely as the place is – as the name suggests – located in a garden and the view is quite nice. The staff is friendly and attentive and makes sure you have everything you need in no time. So, to sum it up, the Le Jardin Les Crayères is a nice place to visit, but you have to book in advance.
