Surprisingly good airport food, but definitely with a service speed not up to par: Restaurant Olivine (21. May 2023)
I was looking for a place close to the hotel area, which was rated well on Google Maps. And I do admit, the food was quite decent. However, when it comes to coordination and service speed, then something was massively off. I went for the “sardines with olive oil” (EUR 9.00) because I thought it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to open up a can of sardines. How wrong I was. It took them a solid 30 minutes to serve this dish – and they served it together with the salmon. I mean, come on! To be fair, though, the sardines were good!
The “half-cooked salmon (160gr) with fennel mousseline and salad, with Granny Smith apple, coriander and dill” (EUR 24.00) was decent too. I liked the texture of the fish as well as the flavour profile. What was a bit weird was the fennel mousseline (not entirely to my liking).
All in all, the food at the Olivine is definitely good. What isn’t so good was the service and the timing. There were like three or four waiters, and no one was around ever. So, it’s rather annoying if you are kind of in a hurry to finalise things to get some rest – and it takes 30 minutes for them to open up a can of sardines. So, recommended but not recommended.
