When the staff prepares the ice cream with its bare hands: Restaurant Qirin (22. May 2023)
I’ve been to the Qirin twice already, once for lunch, once for dinner, so I was quite positive about the place. However, this evening things didn’t necessarily turn out as they should have. The “tako karaage (fried octopus arms, mayo)” (CHF 14.80) were quite decent to start with.
The “pommes rot/schwarz (spicy salmon, crab cream, avocado, tobikko, ebi, snow cream” (CHF 19.80) [the ones which are not covered by ‘smoke’] did look nice the way they were served, and I must say, they were generally enjoyable.
The “udon teriyaki with fried udon noodles with vegetables, teriyaki sauce and Chinese duck breast” (CHF 28.80) was okay, but it was not really a big portion for a main course, and it was somewhat … standard.
The “mango roll (spicy tuna, avocado I/O, mango, chili)” (CHF 15.80) was okay to fill up the stomach, but with CHF 3.95 per roll, it felt like too much.
The staff was a bit confused that evening and when preparing the dessert, we saw one of the waitresses preparing the ice cream with her bare hands. Yeah, thanks but no thanks.
