A very traditional setting with a bit unsettling service staff: Restaurant Kornhauskeller (26. June 2023)

| August 15, 2023 | 0 Comments

The restaurant used to be a place to store grains, hence, the atmosphere is a bit like in a cellar, but in an appealing way. I went for the “cold tomato watermelon soup with lemon balm” (CHF 12.00), which was a nice combination of the sweetness of the watermelon and the tomatoey taste of the tomato.

As a main, I went for the “veal liver (cut veal liver, shallots, herbs, roesti)” (CHF 39.00), which was alright. I mean, I have definitely tried better liver before in my life, as it was a bit chewy, but it was still decent. Still, I was a bit disappointed.

The service quality of the staff actually varies quite a bit, depending on the service member. Some of them are incredibly incompetent and unprofessional, while others are super attentive and professional. So, it is a bit of a hit-and-miss. All in all, the experience is a bit tiring.
