Delicious lunch offering, but overpriced: Restaurant Eden Kitchen & Bar (11. July 2023)

I have good memories of the Eden Kitchen & Bar and was looking forward to having lunch here this time (instead of dinner like the last time). I went for the “green tiger tomato gazpacho, compressed watermelon, yuzu” (CHF 28.00), which was surprisingly delicious, but it was a rather expensive dish for a starter.

As a main, I went for the “La Réserve beef tartare (160gr), mini baguette” (CHF 40.00), which was a bit heavy on the chives side, but definitely absolutely enjoyable with tasty bread and …

… “French fries”. The dash of mustard was a bit too much, in my opinion, but other than that, the dish was overall quite nice.

Last but not least, I went for the “coconut sorbet” (CHF 10.00), which was not a dish by itself, but rather some ice cream requested from a dessert – and while I absolutely loved the ice cream, I found CHF 10.00 for a scoop of ice cream just really off.

As a final treat, you get some tasty sweets to finalise the lunch. I also have to say something about the service – the quality varies massively depending on who attends you. The first waitress, who was attending the table, brought water pretty much right away. When I asked her if I could already get the menu, I had to ask her a total of three times until it was finally brought to me. Not really a pleasant way to get started.

Overall, I like the Eden Kitchen & Bar, however, considering they do not really offer any ‘business lunch’ (despite the homepage stating that they do), the prices for the lunch are somewhat a bit beyond what is to be considered decent. So, while I like the food and the atmosphere, the pricing is a very different exercise. Definitely at the upper end and definitely not what you would love to pay.
