Absolutely delicious Italian food, but definitely on the expensive side of things: Restaurant Ornellaia (11. July 2023)
I had never visited the Ornellaia in its old location, but apparently it wasn’t anything good. However, they had refurbished everything, and I was curious to try out the new place. The menu is rather small, so, the choice isn’t massive, hence, I went for the “Caesar Salad (lettuce, Caesar dressing, Parmesan)” (CHF 21.00), which was decent, but not really something special.
The “Tagliata di Manzo (ribeye tagliata, rocket salad, Parmesan)” (CHF 59.00) on the other hand was absolutely good. I mean, the size of the meat was rather not so generous, but the quality of the meat was good …
… and it was served with my favourite side dish, “wild broccoli”, which was absolutely enjoyable.
The place itself is very nice in terms of interior design and decoration and the staff is friendly, attentive, and yet jovial, but keeping the right balance. Personally, I find the Ornellaia a bit too expensive, but the quality of the food is good, the service is exquisite, and the place is nice. Definitely heavy on the price side, though.
