Absolutely delicious and swift business lunch offering: Restaurant Kaufleuten (25. July 2023)
Somehow, I haven’t been to the Kaufleuten in more than 10 years – not sure, why. But it is actually a place you can absolutely visit for a quick lunch. The selection of dishes is nice, they are served swiftly, and even the price performance element works. I went for a “leaf salad” as a starter, which was surprisingly nice. Sure, simple in the way it was served, but the taste of the sauce was great.
As a main, I went for a “whole chicken in herb jus” (CHF 36.50) – and I was surprised. When it said “Mistkratzerli” on the menu, I had not expected that it would be a whole chicken (yes, the German wording is a bit different from the English one). In any case, the chicken was damn good! I mean, the flavours of the jus and the way it was marinated, was just absolutely outstanding!
The “sweet potato fries” on the other side weren’t anything special, but enjoyable.
Overall, the lunch offering at the Kaufleuten is quite nice, since the food is great, the service is speedy, and the price performance ratio is definitely absolutely mega okay. So, if you are looking for a good place for a swift and nice business lunch, then I can recommend you to pay the Kaufleuten a visit – just make sure you’re actually booking in advance, as else, I think, it’s quite challenging to score a table.
