Sound European interpretation of Mexican food: Restaurant Cartell (28. July 2023)
It’s also a couple of years ago since I’ve last been to the Cartell – but I was looking forward to visiting it again, as I remember that the Mexican food was actually relatively decent. I went for the “tacos al pastor” (CHF 25.00), which were – obviously – not necessarily the way I remember them, but they were definitely delicious and enjoyable.
The “quesadilla chicken mole” (CHF 26.00) was nice, but it was somehow so much bigger and, hence, different (also due to the cheese) than the quesadillas you’ll know from Mexico.
In any case, the food at the Cartell is absolutely lovely – delicious dishes (not necessarily authentically Mexican), friendly service, and fair price performance ratio. If you go for lunch, I would highly recommend you to book in advance.
