Delicious Middle Eastern inspired brunch option, which needs pre-booking: Restaurant Bebek (5. August 2023)

| September 30, 2023 | 0 Comments

If you intend to have a brunch during the weekend at the Bebek, you necessarily need to book your table in advance, as else you won’t stand a chance to find a place last minute. Given I am more on the savoury side of things, even when it comes to breakfast, I went for the “hummus belhame (chick peas mousse, tahina, minced beef, roasted pine nuts)” (CHF 15.50), which was quite nice, but personally I found the meat a bit too oily plus there was definitely not enough pita bread. Hence, I was somehow already looking forward to my next visit to the Middle East.

As a main course, I went for the “Halloumi Burger (sesame bun, muhamara, tzatziki, leaf salad, harissa mayo)” (CHF 29.00), which was somewhat okay. What was quite nice was the fact that the burger buns were rather wide and hence, you would not have the issue that the burger was too high stacked and, hence, difficult to eat. The harissa mayo worked well and frankly, the salad (incl. the dressing) was actually very enjoyable as well.

The “French fries”, which were part of the main course, were nice, since they were crispy and not stroppy (which they are far too often).

The place is rather large, so it allows hosting quite a few people. Given the size of the place, it’s quite amazing, how quick they are in taking up your order but also in making sure it is served within a relatively short amount of time. So, all in all, if you want to enjoy brunch at the Bebek, I would highly recommend you to book your table in advance and enjoy your weekend brunch here. Doesn’t matter if you like the more classical breakfast options, or the savoury ones, like I do.
