Simple place, but with decent food and friendly service: Restaurant Chouchouette (12. September 2023)
The Chouchouette had been recommended to me by a friend, so, I decided to give it a try. As a starter, we decided to have starters to share like the “crumbled crab with yuzu and mango” (CHF 20.00), and I must say, it was actually quite enjoyable. I mean, it wasn’t a revelation, but it was definitely good.
Apparently, they are famous for their “Banker Rolls (semi-cooked wild tuna)” (CHF 34.00) and I must say, they were quite enjoyable. With CHF 5.66 per roll, I find the price rather steep. Sure, it was tasty, no question, but I’m not sure, it was CHF 5.66 per roll tasty.
Finally, as a main course, I went for the “green tea infused noodles with shredded chicken” (CHF 26.00) and I was positively surprised by the noodles. Due to the green tea infusion, the noodles had a kind of sweet taste, which worked much better than I had thought. It was actually a super enjoyable dish. Simple somehow, but great in terms of flavour and texture combination.
Last but not least, we decided to share a “vanilla and a cherry mochi” (CHF 9.00), and while I’m really not a big fan of mochis, the specific flavours in this particular case were actually enjoyable.
All in all, the Restaurant Chouchouette really offers tasty dishes in a simple atmosphere with friendly and super attentive service. So, to sum it up, if you’re looking for simple but enjoyable Asian cuisine, then the Chouchouette is a good choice.
