A decent place for Sunday evening – but nothing more: Restaurant Argentina (24. September 2023)
It’s not easy to find a restaurant, which is open on a Sunday evening – however, luckily, the Restaurant Argentina was open and in the vicinity of where I was, hence, perfect to visit. The place is relatively large and somehow feels like a ‘chain’ (but, to my knowledge, it isn’t). In any case, the staff was friendly and seated us pretty much right away and was quick in providing the menu too. I went for the “sopa del màis (Argentinean corn chilli soup with sour cream)” (CHF 11.00) as a starter, which was – honestly speaking – quite of a disappointment. Mainly, because it didn’t really taste like much and the sour cream just became somehow semi-hard blobs.
As a main, I went for the “chain steak (200gr)” (CHF 43.00) with “Cazuela de Choclo (sweet corn casserole)” (CHF 7.00). The Cazuela de Choclo was rather enjoyable, as it had a strong taste of corn – which I quite enjoy. The meat itself was quite nice, but somehow lacked a bit of the special taste I like so much in meat.
All in all, the Argentina is a decent place – especially for a Sunday evening – but not much more than that either.
