A nice place to play cards, but not necessarily a foodie paradise: Restaurant Werdguet (3. October 2023)

| November 8, 2023 | 0 Comments

The Werdguet remains my go-to to play cards. Somehow, though, when it comes to the service, the experience has shifted. There are a few new people on the block, and they are not really up to the task yet. I asked for a large bottle of sparkling water and got a glass. Which is not really what I had ordered. As a starter, I went for the “salad with garlic dressing”, which was quite decent.

As a main course I went for the “Zürcher Geschnetzeltes with veal and roesti” (CHF 40.00), which wasn’t bad, but frankly, the sauce felt a bit artificial. On top of that, as you can see in the picture, the dish was clearly kept warm for quite a while as you can see the layer where the sauce has already thickened.

So, while it is a good place to play cards, I get the impression they haven’t really improved their food game. Pity, as else, it would be quite a nice place.
