Lovely ramen place for lunch: Restaurant Susuru (4. October 2023)
I have walked by the Susuru quite a few times already, but somehow never felt like entering the place. Finally, it was time to do so and it was a pleasant surprise. The place is rather small and if you want to eat quickly, then you need to inform them upfront, as it takes them a while to get things sorted. We went for the “mixed gyoza” (CHF 15.00) where the meat dumplings were actually very enjoyable and the vegetable dumplings quite a bit less so.
As a main, I went for the “Duck Shoyu (smoked duck breast, marinated egg, deglazed orange pakchoi, sautéed chanterelles, spring onions)” (CHF 29.00) with “black garlic” (CHF 2.00) and I must say, the dish was nice. I liked the intensity and flavour profile of the broth, and the duck was tasty too. A bit too fatty for my personal gusto but still enjoyable all in all.
The place is definitely worth visiting, especially for lunch. Good atmosphere, tiny tables, but tasty dishes and friendly service. Not necessarily the quickest of all, but worth visiting.
