Absolutely delicious lunch, but definitely on the pricier side of things: Restaurant Parkhuus (5. October 2023)

It’s quite some time ago since I’ve last been to the Parkhuus, and I remember why. The place is absolutely lovely, the service is super professional, the food is great. However, the prices – especially for lunch – are way too high! I went for the “wild herbs’ salad (lentils, goat cheese, peach, fennel, crackers)” (CHF 25.00) and while it was absolutely mouth-watering and super enjoyable, I find CHF 25.00 for a starter at the upper end.

As a main course, I went for the “Castle Cheese Ravioli (spinach, green beans, saffron, macadamia)” (CHF 46.00) and at first I was like, really? 4 ravioli for CHF 46.00?! And yes, it was four ravioli only, but they are prepared in a way that they are humongous, so, it feels like you’re eating much, much more, and to be fair, I was more than full after having enjoyed these. Personally, the price of CHF 46.00 for 4 pieces of pasta still feels like way too high. But, in all fairness, the food is excellent, although it was a bit too much on the Saffron side of things for me.

The service is absolutely outstanding, though! I was a bit under the weather and spilled my full glass of water, which led to a completely wet table – and they were just taking care of it in no time. Super professional! So, really, kudos! So, frankly, if you want to splurge a bit, the Parkhuus is a good location. If you’re a bit more price sensitive, then it definitely isn’t.
