Incredibly interesting cocktails in a walk-in bar: Mariposa Negra Cocktail Bar (11. October 2023)
The Mariposa Negra Cocktail Bar is a hidden gem, which is actually not so hidden. What I like about the place is that there is a no reservation policy – you basically go there and if you’re lucky you’ll score a place, and if you’re unlucky, you won’t. The place is a bit “dark” in terms of interior design, but actually quite nice when it comes to the whole atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive and attends you quite quickly. The production of the drinks takes a bit of time, but it is worth the wait. First, I went for the “El Malahostia (Himalayan salted home-made & artisan limoncello, lemon, fresh basil, cream, Boldo)” (EUR 11.00), which was definitely interesting in terms of flavour profile. Something a bit unusual, but easy to drink.
The second drink I went for was the “Melancólico (artisanal home-made spiced rum, limequat falernum, Mariposa Negra signature orange liqueur, lime, our home-made artisan tiger nut horchata, hop, egg white)” (EUR 11.00), which was a bit different in terms of how it was made, but still turned out to be quite enjoyable.
If you are looking for your standard drinks, then the Mariposa Negra Cocktail Bar is probably not the right place to go to. However, if you’re willing to try something new, then I can definitely recommend you to pay this place a visit.
