A winebar restaurant with exquisite wines: Restaurant Kinfelts Kitchen & Wine (29. October 2023)

Finding something kind of last minute for dinner on a Sunday didn’t turn out to be so easy, so it took me a little while to find a place – and the Kinfelts came in very handy! The place is located right next to the Elbphilharmonie, so, if you want to have an early dinner before a concert, I can definitely recommend you to come here. The place is relatively small, but it is lovely in terms of interior design, as it strikes the right balance between spacious and comfy.

I went for the “pumpkin soup (pickled pumpkin, pumpkin seed oil)” (EUR 12.50), which looked kind of simple, but was actually quite amazing in terms of flavour profile. I especially liked the pickled pumpkin, as it really added a bit of something special to the dish.

The “Iberico cotelet (350gr)” (EUR 44.00) with “a small Caesar salad” (EUR 6.50), “cucumber salad” (EUR 5.50) and “Sauce Béarnaise” (EUR 5.00) was decent. I mean, the meat was good and delicious. In terms of size, I would question the 350gr to be honest, as it looks a lot smaller. Other than that, the salads both are good, and the sauce was decent too. However, I found EUR 5.00 for a bit of Sauce Béarnaise way too much (knowing how cumbersome it is to prepare it freshly). Still, all in all, the price performance ratio for the main was slightly off. In my opinion, they should offer at least one side dish with the meat.

The staff is very friendly, almost a bit jovial, and they are doing a good job in recommending wines too. So, all in all, I can highly recommend the Kinfelts as an experience for a Sunday evening. Make sure you book in advance, as the place is rather crowded.
