Delicious ramen, but not-up-to-task service: Restaurant Momo Ramen (30. October 2023)

| December 27, 2023 | 0 Comments

The Momo Ramen is a nice place for a business lunch – but it isn’t really the perfect place when you’re a bit short on time. When I had walked in, they immediately attended me and gave me a table to sit down (I had booked in advance). However, then the waiting odyssey begun. I had to wait a good 10 minutes until someone finally took my order. Then, another 10 minutes later, my “spicy edamame (young soybeans, sea salt, sesame, chilli)” (EUR 7.50) were served. Way after the main courses, the table behind me had ordered. In any case, the spicy edamame were actually quite enjoyable.

Then another waiting odyssey begun, and another 20 minutes later they finally managed to serve the main course. Firstly, generally speaking, this is still okay. However, given the table behind me managed to get their whole table served within five minutes, I found 20 minutes too long a waiting time. I went for the “Momo Style Spicy Miso (chilli miso tare, green Szechuan pepper, chicken broth, mayu, carrots, minced chicken, sprouts, egg, pork belly)” (EUR 17.80) and I must say, it was delicious. I liked the intensity of the broth and the quality of the rest of the dish. If it had been served quicker, then I would definitely have preferred that.

All in all, I liked the Momo Ramen, but the place is tiny and has a lot of tables. The service is semi-attentive, but the food is good and also fair in price. Make sure to book in advance, though, as the place is booked out quite quickly. When I left the place around 1.20pm, there was a line of people waiting to get in, so booking in advance is key.
