Apparently the newest shit in Lisbon – not sure I agree: Oui Jackie (3. November 2023)
The Oui Jackie is apparently one of the newest and hottest places in Lisbon, and I somehow get why, but I also do not entirely agree with that assessment. The place is relatively small and a bit hidden from the main streets, so it has its own appealing atmosphere, which is quite lovely. However, the place is also rather pseudo-posh. The staff is serving, but lacks the friendliness you look for to create a memorable experience. At least the drinks are quite nice. I liked the “Summer in Paris (floral & citric refreshment smoothed by a cherry subtle-ending, St-German, sugar, gin, lime, maraschino, luxardo)” (EUR 11.00). The drink was refreshing, but had still a nice intensity.
The “Miles Perfect Pear (fresh, herbal and spicy notes with Apple and pear flavours, Anis-elevated; Ginger, thyme, apple juice, lemon, Grey Goose la Poire, cinnamon)” (EUR 12.50) was equally delicious. In both cases, they were well-balanced between being sweet and having a nice degree of alcohol.
What I liked the about the place is its interior design. It is modern, clean, and really appealing somehow.
All in all, the Oui Jackie is nice and offers nice drinks. However, to me, it’s not a place I would necessarily return to.
