14. August 2011: Das Tegernsee | Restaurant

| August 15, 2011 | 0 Comments

The beef steak (EUR 22.00) comes with potatoes au gratin. The potatoes are tasteful, the beef steak is quite good but is somehow not optimal in texture. The meat seemed too loose as if it was not properly holding together. Still, it is okay in taste.

A double espresso costs EUR 4.50 , a bottle of white wine Graupert, Grauburgunder EUR 38.00 and a bottle of San Pellegrino EUR 6.80. So, the prices are not exactly low for Germany but given what you get to see on the terrace of the Das Tegernsee | Restaurant it is more than fine. The view over the Tegernsee (Lake Tegern) is amazing – when the sun is shining and you’re sitting on that terrace, it is truly overwhelming! The terrace is beautiful, the view is amazing, the roses around are great. The whole property is truly overwhelming.

The service at the Das Tegernsee | Restaurant changes with perceived importance and generosity of the customer. At first, we were not served friendly and we even had to ask several times for bread to come and for the wine to be refilled. After they figured we might be potentially good customers, service immediately turned more friendly. A pity to see that because from that moment on, the whole attitude changed and they know what they’re doing – they just don’t live it upfront.

Overall, the Das Tegernsee | Restaurant is worth going: The view over Lake Tegern is amazing! Truly amazing! The terrace is nice, the food is good, the prices are fair, and the service treats you good when they perceive you as a good potential customer (so, that’s the downturn of that place).
