Definitely one of my favourite wine estates during this trip: Wine Tasting @ Waterford Estate (6. December 2023)
Given the Waterford Estate is on the way from Hermanus to Stellenboesch, it is the perfect pit stop to try “The Cellar Collection” (395 ZAR) and to me, this was the best wine tasting I have had while being in South Africa – mainly, I suppose, because they focus on red wine and not on white wine.
What I truly loved about the place, though, was the place itself. Like, it is just so beautiful – in the middle of nowhere (kind of), it is really a place, which is already breathtaking when you drive in.
And then once you’re in the centre of the estate, you’re all seated around the main fountain in the middle and you can just enjoy your wine in the sun.
Frankly, the Waterford Estate is definitely an amazing place and definitely worth visiting, when you’re in the neighbourhood. Would even say, it’s worth the drive.
