When the bird salad comes including a fried bird head: Nộm Bò Khô Long Vi Dung (22. December 2023)
We started the Hanoi food experience with a Food Walking Tour and I must say this was a fascinating experience. Not sure what all the different things we ate were, respectively, if the places we were brought to are actually the best or even good, but I can say that I liked the experience. We started at Nộm Bò Khô Long Vi Dung with a “Dried Beef Salad” (40’000 VND) and a “Bird Salad” (50’000 VND). Frankly, both dishes are relatively simple, but both dishes are enjoyable, so, definitely something you can try.
What is a bit something you need to get used to, is that they mean ‘whole bird’ salad when they say ‘bird salad’, or more specifically, you’re served a whole cooked and fried quail. So, if you’re not into eating a quail head, then maybe this isn’t for you.
The place is simple, there are a few blue plastic chairs on the ground, which allow you to sit down, but it is not something for super tall and not so flexible people, because the chairs are really low to the ground, and that makes it a bit tricky.
In any case, if you want to try a local salad as an experience, then I can definitely recommend you to try this place.
