25. August 2011: Bar Celona

| September 1, 2011 | 0 Comments

The Bar Celona (hint: if you read it quickly it is a city name ;-) ) offers a nice selection of different tapas. We had octopus rings (EUR 4.45), spicy chicken wings (EUR 4.25), pollo empanado (EUR 3.95), baked potatoes (EUR 5.25), french fries aka Patatas Fritas (EUR 2.95), and Pan con Salsa (EUR 2.25). The tapas were good, a bit heavy and unfortunately they served almost the same sauce for all tapas which made the whole thing not really massively persuasive.

The Caipirinha (EUR 7.50) is fair in price and rather good and strong, so definitely recommendable. If you’re there before 9pm, it is happy hour and you get the Caipirinha for half the price (EUR 3.75).

The inside of the bar is not too appealing but sitting outside is nice as you’re on a large patio and you can watch the people pass by and the whole area is somewhat cozy. The atmosphere is okay but the furniture is rather simple (the picture does not show the whole truth as it’s taken from the homepage). The bad part about sitting outside is that they make you go inside at 11pm because of the law (but seriously, relax people, it’s annoying).

The waitresses are very friendly and helpful and do their job pretty good. Overall, the Bar Celona in Münster is a nice place to go and have some tapas and drinks. While the food is not outstanding or overwhelming it is definitely fair, especially for the price (which I consider rather low).
