Unacceptably slow service and average food: Pool Bar @ Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa (9. January 2024)
Unfortunately, the food offerings at the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa are very limited. For lunch, you can basically visit the breakfast restaurant or the Pool Bar. Given, it was pool time, I went to the Pool bar to order a “Khao Pad (Thai style fried rice with chicken, served with a fried egg)” (385 THB), which took them quite a while to prepare, but once it finally arrived, it turned out to be quite nice.
The area by the pool isn’t too inviting, but it’s okay, i.e., it’s fine to eat something there while you’re spending time at the beach or at the pool. What wasn’t so great was the quality of the service. It took them a solid 15 minutes to bring a coke and a bottle of sparkling water to the table. I mean, I get it, there are a few people, and they also order things, but 15 minutes – man, no!
