A pseudo-Thai tourist trap run by a French guy: Restaurant Baobab (10. January 2024)
Given I was kind of fed up with the limited food options in the hotel, I decided to try a place outside the hotel area, and ended up in the Baobab, which was advertised as a Thai restaurant. Which, well, it isn’t really. It’s run by a French guy and about 80% of the menu is ‘international’ (so you get pizza and what not). Sure, this might be great if you’re looking for this, but personally, that’s not what I’m looking for while on holiday. However, the “fried noodles with sweet soy sauce and chicken” (170 THB) were actually quite okay, and served within no time.
If you don’t mind a place being crowded, and hence, having limited privacy, then the Baobab is nice, since it’s located by the sea shore, and you get to watch the waves. Else, not really my favourite since too touristic. At least prices are fair for whatever you order.
