10. September 2011: Restaurant @Tryp Congress Hotel
The breakfast in the restaurant at the Tryp Congress Hotel is quite okay. The offer a nice selection of different breads, juices, fruit, joghurt, cold cuts, cheese, teas, and you can even press your own fresh orange juice from real oranges.
While the cold cuts selection is not very big, it is quite okay. The salmon on the other hand is nothing special – definitely to greasy for my taste.
The bacon, sausages, and meat balls are quite good – the egg on the other hand is somewhat too mashed together. It would be better if you’d have the egg more frequently refilled as it would be fresher.
The service is very friendly but they don’t approach your table but you have to call them to your table in order to ask for coffee or tea. After you have placed your order, it does not take long until you get your tea (in my case). The atmosphere in the restaurant is okay. The furniture looks a bit cheap but the dining room is okay. Really nothing overwhelming but functional.
On the price I cannot judge as it was covered within the room rate and I didn’t get to see the bill – but I guess it is acceptable. Overall, if you’re staying at the Tryp Congress Hotel, it is okay to have breakfast there, but it is definitely not worth going just for the breakfast.
