7. January 2012: Café Bea’s of Bloomsbury
I am no big fan of cupcakes and deserts in general but I must admit the “blackberry cupcake” (GBP 2.30) I had at the Café Bea’s of Bloomsbury was great! It was not overly sweet, actually tasted like blackberry, and – okay, not a question of taste – looked very nice. The tea which I had with it (“Vanilla Vanilla”) was tasting like vanilla and was very nice.
The place is pretty nice, very small (max. for 14 people, I’d say) and it is, therefore, recommended to book a table in advance. We were four and as he had not reserved, we had to wait an amazing 30 minutes before one table for four people got free. But it was definitely worth it.
You have to place your order at the counter – the waitresses are friendly and very helpful. Also, they are rather quick. And last but not least, what you get there is pretty cheap but quite good – summing up: If you are into tea time in the afternoon you should definitely go there – and do not forget to book a table in advance, otherwise you will spend quite some time waiting for your table.
