8. February 2012: Restaurant meissners

| February 11, 2012 | 0 Comments

One should think that after being in area for pretty much one year one should know all the restaurants in that area – and especially the good ones. Well, wrong, I did not and recently discovered the Restaurant meissners. For lunch I had grilled beef filet, pepper cream sauce, potatoes au gratin with pumpkin, and vegetables (EUR 16.50). I must admit that EUR 16.50 is quite a heavy price for the size of the dish for a lunch but on the other hand it has to be said that the meat was perfectly tender, had very good quality (was a bit too cooked – a bit over medium), the potatoes au gratin were very good and had the surprising element of pumpkins in it. The vegetables were fresh and good. Overall a very sound dish.

So, I can definitely recommend the Restaurant meissners for lunch. But not only because the dishes are good but also because the atmosphere is very nice. It is modernly designed and furnished nicely, spacious and just comfortable. The service is very friendly and helpful. The only bad thing is that they have no open mineral water so you either have to buy the small 2dl glas or the 0,75L bottle (EUR 5.90).

All in all, the Restaurant meissners is definitely a place worth visiting – the evening menu looked very promising too. Good dishes for lunch, a bit high prices (although the weekly menus cost between EUR 6.00 and EUR 7.90), friendly service and very nice atmosphere.
