5. June 2012: Restaurant Seasons @Hilton

| June 5, 2012 | 0 Comments

The evening started with an amuse bouche – a salmon roulade with mustard dill sauce. The roulade was fresh and rich in taste, the mustard dill sauce was very smooth without having the strong and stingy taste of usual mustard dill sauce.

The starter was a so called “Latte Macchiato of white tomato foam with basil and ciabatta chips” (EUR 5.00) and it was truly delicious. The white tomato foam was very fine and gentle in taste, the refinement with basil oil gave it the special edge. Overall, a great dish. Only the ciabatta chip was a bit disappointing as it was more a very thin slice of bread roasted with too much olive oil.

The main course was “crips salmon grilled with its skin a green vegetable assortment and truffled risotto” (EUR 16.00). The salmon was crispy and juicy and the sauce in which it was laying was great. Although I usually do not like truffled risotto because it has this sting of underarm perspiration, this time it was actually very delicous because the truffle oil was applied only moderately and, therefore, the particular sting was not there. The green vegetables (sugar peas, carrots, beans, and broccoli) were good.

The prices for the dishes are pretty fair and also for the drinks. A bottle of Rioja accounts for EUR 33.00 and a double espresso for EUR 4.00. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice, spacious, the tables are dished up nicely and the whole setting is coherent. The waiter is friendly and nice and provides a good service.

Overall, the dishes in the Restaurant Seasons @Hilton Bonn are quite good, the atmosphere is nice, the service is good and the prices are pretty fair.
