21. November 2012: Restaurant Das Heinz

| November 25, 2012 | 0 Comments

The restaurant “Das Heinz” was recommended to me by a dear friend for lunch because the place is run apparently by a former investment banker who just got sick of the job – and I must admit that it was a good recommendation! I went for the business lunch menu (EUR 9.00) which started with a mushroom soup which was good – intense in taste, had still pieces of mushroom and was just good.

The main course of the menu was pork cordon bleu filled with mountain cheese and dried tomatoes. As a side dish, potatoes were served. The stuffing was not equally distributed but once you actually got to the part where you could find stuffing, it got delicious. The meat with bread crumbs was already tasty itself but with the melted cheese and the dried tomatoes – delicious!

The dishes were definitely very tasty and they were also absolutely reasonable in price! But not only the dishes are reasonable also the drinks have reasonable prices. A large “green tea pot” accounts for EUR 3.70, a double espresso for EUR 3.50. The place itself is pretty amazing – modern and appealing interior design but at the same time you actually feel like being in a small cottage somewhere up in the mountains. The perfect combination of both – modern and urban, old-fashioned and traditional.

The waitress was friendly, helpful and provided a good service – the only thing not so optimal (was not fault of the waitress) was that the tables are actually pretty damn small to put more than two plates and teas. But well – it worked out and it was definitely a good lunch! Recommendable! Important note: Make sure you book a table in advance, otherwise chances are high that you will not get one at all.
