13. December 2012: Restaurant A2 am See
I had a “French onion soup with crunchy parmesan croûtons” (EUR 5.90) as a start which was somehow watery but on the other hand also quite tasty. The dumpling kind of thing which was in the soup was not of special taste but provided the whole thing with some extra effect.
As a main course, I had a beef filet (200gr; EUR 25.90) with a backed onion in a bacon coat, French fries, and herb butter with a cognac pepper sauce (EUR 2.80). The beef filet was medium-rare as requested and the quality of the meat was okay. Not overly tender but fine overall, the French fries were rather stroppy. The cognac pepper sauce was good but rather peppery.
The place is pretty average – although it is nicely located close to the lake, it is not too appealing inside. The quality of the waitresses’ service was highly varying. While one was absolutely friendly, nice, and provided good service the others were absolutely bad – they put the plates in a very unfriendly manner! The prices are rather heavy for Münster but acceptable overall.
