2. January 2013: Figtree’s Cafe
Venice Beach is an absolutely amazing area – located right next to the beach with a lot of sun, just great. So, basically in whatever restaurant you decided to sit down which is located right next to the beach, it is absolutely nice there. So sunny, so many palm trees, just great! No wonder people come here to enjoy the sund and everything around.
I decided to go the “Figtree’s Cafe” as it was crowded and usually a lot of people are a good sign – and I was not disappointed. I had a “Grilled Ahi Tuna Salad” (USD 14.95) with tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, capers, basil and balsamic vinaigrette. The tuna was only grilled for a few seconds and the combination of the salad ingredients amde it a very refreshing and fine salad. It lacked a bit in condiments, especially pepper, but that was easy to be fixed. The tuna sald was definitely tasty and fresh – a good choice.
The price is really fair for what you get – and so is the price for beverages (Sprite, USD 2.25). The service is friendly, helpful, and rather quick. Overall, the Figtree’s Cafe is a very nice place to hang out, enjoy the sun, and eat some healthy and good food.
