5. March 2010: Restaurant Noi Due

| March 6, 2010 | 0 Comments

The restaurant Noi Due is located between the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi and the navigli area in Milan. It’s easily reachable by either tram 9, 29/30, tram 3 or 15 including a little footwalk.

From the outside, the restaurant Noi Due doesn’t really look to appealing as it doesn’t provide any eye-catching impressions. On the other hand, once you’ve entered the place, it looks quite cozy which is mainly caused by the size of the place (which is quite small). Once you’ve gotten your table (and managed to squeeze in) you’re served your menus quite quick.

But then, on the other hand, it takes quite a while (and that’s definitely understated) until someone comes to your table to take your drink orders, not to speak of your dish orders.

Although they’ve informed us (we were a group of six) that the dishes won’t be synchronized and just served as they’re done, it was somehow disappointing that they didn’t manage to serve the dishes synchronized as some of us have already finished both they’re courses whereas the others didn’t even have anything to eat yet.

Still, the first dish I’ve tried was “Hummus” which was quite good. The only thing which lacked somehow was something to eat it with (pure Hummus is good, but somehow annoying I think).

After quite some time, the second course arrived “Gnocchi with tomato sauce and pesto”. That was somehow disappointing because first of all the portion wasn’t really big (meaning, you weren’t even closely full) and secondly, the gnocchi might have been freshly made, but the tomato and pesto sauce accompanying them wasn’t really tasting like much.

What must be said is that it is one of the probably few vegetarian places in Milan and somehow the selection of dishes is quite decent (talking of the number of dishes possible to choose from). On the other hand, looking at the prices, which were all in all okay – but e.g. much to expensive for the gnocchi, and the amount of food which is placed on a dish, plus the tastiness, I’d personally wouldn’t go there again.
