8. February 2013: Goldene Bar

You seldomly experience really great tasting drinks but the bar tender at the Goldene Bar (Golden Bar) even won the Mixologist Award 2012 – and I must say, he deserved it. First I had an “Arabic Lemon Drop” made of Wyborova Vodka, Triple Sec, Fresh Lemon, Sugar, TBT Lemon Bitters, and Sumac Powder (EUR 9.50) which was very refreshing, next I tried the classic drink “Moskow Mule” with Wyborova Vodka, Cucumber, and Homemade Ginger Ale (EUR 9.50) which was equally good.

But it was not only the “standard drinks” on the menu which were outstanding but also the selection of special mixes we were offered – a wide variety of different drinks, daily specials – all breath-takingly tasty.

While the drinks were already outstanding, I figured as a late night snack “homemade poultry paté with bread” (EUR 6.50) might serve as an ideal dish to level out the alcohol. Well, it worked and it was absolutely tasty. The paté was smooth, fine and very intense in taste. Truly yummy!

Last but not least, the Goldene Bar is not only amazing with regards to its drinks but also the place itself is pretty cool. We had booked a table in the middle of the room – w – o – w! Cannot say much more about it but loved it, loved it, loved it!
