11. April 2013: Restaurant Le Rendez-vous
The “tartare de boeuf au coûteau” (CHF 39.00) was chunky and definitely mouth-watering. The meat was tender and soft – the spiciness was to my gusto and fit very well with the salad – perfect balance.
The “Pommes Allumettes” which belong to the dish are great but not as tasty as the ones in the Restaurant La Côte but still good, crunchy and not greasy. Overall, the beef tatar is a very tasty dish for a very fair price.
The prices are also quite fair for the beverages – a double espresso accounts for CHF 7.00, a bottle 0,5L of Arkina for CHF 6.50. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful and provided us with enough time to choose our dishes when my company was occupied on the phone. The place itself is nicely and simply furnished with metal plates with 70ies or 80ies motives on the walls. I can recommend the Restaurant Le Rendez-vous for lunch – no question. It is important to book a table in advance though.
