15. July 2013: Restaurant Kyoto
The “Bulgogi Bento” (EUR 10.50; marinated beef and vegetables the Korean way, Kimchi and rice) was definitely not outstanding. I mean, it was eatable, no question, but nothing much beyond that to be honest. The meat was of very poor quality, the rice was fine (okay, not such a big challenge) but at least the fish (butter fish, salmon) was tasty and fresh.
The starter, the “Gyoza” (EUR 3.70) were okay but instead of 5 pieces, as described in the menu, only 4 pieces were served and secondly they are too expensive compared to the rest. The place itself is rather small and actually looks quite nice – also I can imagine that the food is better when you actually sit down and try it there instead of taking it with you.
The waitress with whom I’ve placed my order was friendly and nice. Overall, the Restaurant Kyoto did not really persuade me with regards to their food (to go) especially when I look at the Korean food experience I recently had in Frankfurt (Restaurant Mama Kim) but I might give it yet another try to actually eat there in the restaurant.
