22. May 2010: Ristorante Yguana Café

| May 23, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Ristorante Yguana Café is located at the Piazza Vetra and therefore easily reachable by tram 3 (stop: Ticinese Molino delle Armi) or by the yellow metro line (stop: Missori). It’s located right next to the Ristorante Cheese. The place is usually quite crowded and therefore doesn’t look too nice from the outside. Although the entrance sign looks fancy.

Still it’s nice to sit outside although you’re close to the street because although the inside looks nicer design-wise, it is so much more crowded that it becomes uncomfortable – depending on where you’re sitting.

Furthermore, a major negative point of the place is the “live DJ” – first of all, he’s usually not that good and the music is way too loud.

The waiters are friendly, but it takes them quite some time to actually bring you the drinks you’ve ordered. The fact that the place is quite crowded as I’ve mentioned above, probably helps the fact that it takes so long for the drinks to be brought to your table.

The aperitivo buffet is quite large and quite rich as well. Go there several times to pick different things because the stuff provided changes over and over again – so it really depends when you’re going to have something at the buffet what you’re getting. The only non-optimal part is that there can’t really be found any meat-based food.

The costs are absolutely reasonable as for a drink including having unlimited access to the buffet costs between 8 and 12 EUR (depending on which drink you’re having).

All in all, the Ristorante Yguana Café is a totally recommendable place to go having aperitivo in summer – as you can sit outside and get good food for reasonables prices.
