5. September 2010: Ristorante Il Mappamondo

| September 10, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Ristorante Il Mappamondo is located in via Pezzotti which is situated in walking distance from Bocconi University and the Navigli Area. The easiest way to get there, is to use the tram number 15 and get off at either stop “Tibaldi” or “Pezzotti”. The other way is to use bus number 90 or 91 and get off at the stop “Tibaldi”. Close to the Ristorante Il Mappamondo is the Rocket Club located.

The Ristorante Il Mappamondo is looking like nothing special from the outside but somewhat nice from the inside. Although it seems somewhat “cold” the atmosphere is nice as the place is quite crowded and is very “clean” in looks.

The waitresses are nice and friendly but it takes them a bit long to serve you once the place starts getting packed. As a starter I’ve enjoyed Bresoala (EUR 8.00) with fresh parmesan cheese and rucola and tomatoes. The dish was quite good but I’ve had better Bresoala meat before.

In the evening, ending up in the same place, I’ve tried a shrimp cocktail which was also quite good but it’s definitely more recommended to eat seafood when you’re closer to the sea.

As a main dish, I’ve had a Pizza with ricotta cheese and anchovies. It was not only really good, but also it was quite large (you couldn’t see the plate) and cheap, costing only 5 EUR.

I’ve had a Pizza Quattro Formaggi in the evening (5 EUR too) which was as large and as good as the one I’ve had for lunch.

The Ristorante Il Mappamondo is the perfect place to either go grab a pizza quickly (they sell them over the streets in boxes) or to nicely sit down and enjoy a cheap but tasty meal in a decent atmosphere at extremly low prices.
