26. November 2010: Ristorante Piacere

| November 26, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Ristorante Piacere is located in the Seefeld area which is in walking distance from the Bellevue and is therefore easily reachable by public transportation. It belongs to the Valentino Gastronomie group which owns quite a few restaurants in Zurich, among them the Ristorante Amalfi. There are some other restaurants close to it too like the Restaurant Frascati, the Restaurant Latino, or the Bar in the Hotel Seefeld.

As we didn’t book a table in advance we were forced to sit at one of these kind of high-tables which is a bit uncomfortable especially as you have to share the table with other people if you’re less than 6 people. So, it’s in any case highly recommended to book a table in advance over lunch.

The atmosphere of the place is somewhat two-folded. It’s pretty nice as it is kept simply, it’s kept in wood and finally, it’s spacious and bright. So, this is the appealing part. The fact that the tables are pretty close to each other, the place doesn’t provide you with too much privacy really – that’s pretty much a downturn.

The waitress was friendly and in general also tried to be helpful. She didn’t take our coats though and we had to hang them ourselves. In addition, we haven’t been provided with menus but had to look for them ourselves. She was friendly though and also informed us – when we wanted to order a pizza – that it would take at least 20 minutes as the oven was obviously too small. As much as it is nice from her to inform us it should not happen in a restaurant, especially if you put pizza up for a daily special.

I went for the Lunch Menu “Elba” (CHF 18.50) which had a pumpkin soup as a starter (Zuppa di Zucca).

The soup was okay. The taste was pretty regular – nothing wrong with it but it could also have been an instant soup. You wouldn’t have realized the difference. The main course, Risotto al vino bianco con Gamberoni (white wine risotto with king prawns) on the other hand was really tasty.

The risotto was boiled to the point, the vegetables in the risotto enriched the taste and the king prawns were also pretty good.
