13. February 2011: Restaurant Tivoli @Hotel Hilton Munich Park

| February 15, 2011 | 0 Comments

The tomato soup with grilled shrimps and basil oil (EUR 7.00) is good in taste and seemed freshly made. It is a bit too liquid though, especially with the basil oil in it. The soup seems somewhat oily but still tastes good. The grilled shrimps in the soup are tasty and fit astonishingly good with the rest.

The Hilton Burger (Beef meat, sesame buns, salad, tomatoes, onions, French Fries, dips, bacon, cheese) for EUR 16.50 isn’t bad but somehow I didn’t like it that much. The bun is crisp on the inside but not really on the outside and the bacon is way too grilled so that it’s all dried out and way too crispy. The French fries were good: crispy and not oily at all. They lacked a bit of salt but that was easy to “correct”. The “corn sauce” thingy was interesting and fit good with the burger parts.

All in all, the dishes at the Restaurant Tivoli the Hilton Munich Park are good but somehow worse than the last time (12. February 2011). The Hilton burger, a real classic (according to the menu) is good to eat but that’s it. Nothing special or overwhelming – unfortunately. 1L of San Pellegrino costs EUR 9.80 which I consider pretty expensive even for a restaurant but then on the other hand the double espresso accounting for EUR 4.90 is absolutely acceptable.

The atmosphere is as nice as the last time, and the service was – unfortunately – slightly worse too. I can’t really name it why but somehow it seemed to me that the waiters (there were two different ones – one being friendly, the older one not really) were annoyed that they had to serve me.

On the 12th floor of the Hilton you can find the Executive Lounge (Dinner / Breakfast).
