14. February 2011: Restaurant Paulaner’s Wirtshaus in the Westin Grand Hotel
The business lunch offer in the Restaurant Paulaner’s WIrtshaus in the Westin Grand Hotel is really good. As a starter you’re allowed to get salad at the buffet and the buffet is pretty big (around 20 elements to be put on the plate) especially considering that you can actually fill your plate so you would already have enough with just the buffet (usually that would cost EUR 5.90) and it’s part of the whole menu which only costs EUR 9.00.
The main dish “Beef meatballs with barbecue sauce, French fries” tastes good. The sauce is something you need getting used to as it has a special taste but the meat balls are good and the fried potatoes were quite okay too (a bit too oily and stroppy but still okay). I substituted the French fries for the fried potatoes and that wasn’t any problem at all. A 2 dl drink costs around EUR 1.50. So all in all, you get a decent business lunch for EUR 10.50.
The waitress is friendly and helpful – rather rapid in her behavior but still sincere. She won’t spend much time at your table but the dishes come within a few minutes so you can be done after around 20 minutes with the salad buffet, the main course and paying the bill. The atmosphere of the place is okay. It seems like a classic Bavarian restaurant to me (honestly, I don’t really know how they normally look like) and with its dark wooden furniture it provides somehow a feeling of comfortableness.
All in all, the Restaurant Paulaner’s Wirtshaus in the Westin Grand Hotel is the perfect place for a quick business lunch: Good salad buffet, okay main course, friendly waitress, okay atmosphere and really cheap!
Close to it are other restaurants like the Restaurant Audrey’s food & flavour or the Restaurant Namaste.
