19. March 2011: Lounge @Hotel Belvédère
In the Lounge of the Hotel Belvédére you get served pretty tasty drinks. I went for a Planters Punch (CHF 16.00) which was good but not as good as the one in the Widder Bar, Zurich for example. The Bahama Mama (CHF 16.00) – another drinks based on brown rum – was pretty tasty though although I’m not able to compare it as it was the first time I’ve had a Bahama Mama. The teas are also pretty fair in price (CHF 4.50).
The waiters and waitresses are friendly and helpful but somewhat limitedly attentive – we had to go to the bar to actually get the menu and order a drink. Somehow that shouldn’t happen – especially when there are about three waiters for an estimated number of guests close to maybe 20 (sitting at a total of maybe 8 tables).
What is great though is the ambiente – the interior is really nice and modern but somehow finds a good combination to an old-fashioned design with a fire place, stone walls and wood. The massive glass front (basically the whole ‘wall’ is made of glass) provides you with an amazing view all over the valley – definitely great!
The lounge is inviting, you feel comfortable there, the view is great, the drinks are good, the prices are fair and the waiters and waitresses are friendly (but a bit non-attentive). If you’re looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy the view – the lounge at the Hotel Belvédère is definitely the place to go in Scuol!
