13. June 2011: Restaurant Entrecôte

| June 18, 2011 | 0 Comments

If you’re in Berlin and are into good meat, then you should definitely eat in the restaurant Entrecôte. The starter “Corsica salad with sheep cheese, tomato and olives” (EUR 8.00) was great because the combination of the sheep cheese, the tomatoes, and the fresh olives made the salad fresh and gave it a great taste. The green salad was not really palatable which was suboptimal but besides that, the salad was good.

My main course was a dream come true: Angus beef filet with sauce bernaiseand pommes alumettes (EUR 26.50). The angus beef filet was incredibly tender, the meat was grilled exactly perfectly the way I wanted and when you ate the meat without any sauce, the taste was just so absolutely delicious!

Also, if you put Sauce Bernaise on the meat, it was absolutely tasty. The sauce was made freshly and tasted really good.

The Pomms Alumettes which came with the main course were good – but I have had better Pommes Alumettes (i.e. at the Restaurant La Côte in Zurich, Switzerland). Somehow they seemed a bit too crusty and had too much spices on them. But still, they were pretty tasty.

The prices are absolutely fair and the price for the meat is absolutely justifiable – as the meat is just so amazing! Also, the price for water (1L Evian, EUR 6.50), or for double espresso (EUR 3.50) are absolutely fair.

The atmosphere in the Restaurant Entrecôet is friendly and nice – somehow artsy, somehow French, somehow modern, somehow oldish, just a great combination of many different elements without being contradictory.

The waitresses are very friendly and the service is great – we never had to wait too long, the glasses were refilled, the service sequence was correct too – really good service!

Overall, the Restaurant Entrecôte is a must for meat lovers – the Angus beef filet is just so absolutely great and tender and rich in taste that you will absolutely regret not going there when you’re in Berlin!
