26. July 2010: Kaufleuten Hof
The Kaufleuten Hof aka Kaufleuten Lounge is located close to the Paradeplatz Zurich and has recently been rebuilt and newly furnished. It’s easily reachable on foot from the Paradeplatz or the Zurich main station. Near the Kaufleuten Hof are for example the Restaurant Wagamama or Bar @Carlton Hotel.
The entrance is slightly hidden (you have to enter a on the side where Talacker is where it says Kaufleuten Garage). The place is really nice and has a great atmosphere. You have enough space so conversations can really stay private. Not only the lounge part itself looks nice but also the bar looks somewhat classy.
The waitresses are friendly and also quick in serving what you’ve ordered. Even though the place seemed to officially close at 11pm it was not a problem that we’ve stayed about 30 minutes longer before we’ve left. The wine served is quite good and fair in price for what you get.
The Kaufleuten Lounge is a nice place to have a drink and a place where you can hold conversations which aren’t heard by everyone around (although this might change when the place gets more crowded).
