3. August 2010: Restaurant Bierfalken
The Restaurant Bierfalken is located in walking distance from the Zurich main station and therefore easily reachable by public transportation. Close to the Bierfalken are the Restaurant wagamama, the Talacker Bar, and the Kaufleuten Hof.
The Bierfalken is quite an old-fashioned restaurant with a dark wooden interior and old-fashioned tables. The waiter is friendly and quick in serving – depending on the number of people being at the place. Also, he’s always joking with the customers.
If you order a Riesencordonbleu, you get a salad with the Cordon Bleu which is a bit small but tastes okay.
The Riesencordonbleu is quite large (as the name already states) and tastes really good as the cheese is nicely distributed in the whole Cordon Bleu and not accumulated in some parts only.
A real downturn is though that you have to pay extra for each Ketchup (CHF 0.50) and for a piece of bread (CHF 1.60) which is somehow a rip off. Also, the Riesencordonbleu is quite okay in price considering that we’ve also gotten a large bowl of French Fries with it (CHF 30.50).
All in all, if you’re looking for a place where you can eat hearty dishes, the Bierfalken is the perfect place to go.
