27. April 2011: Restaurant/Club H.E.A.R.T.

The bread was fresh and tasty the truffled cream cheese was good in taste as the taste of truffles was not overwhelming but really tender. The mixture of olive oil, sea salt and fresh basil to dip your bread was also pretty tasty.

The tuna tatar (EUR 5.00) was also quite good. It had thin slices of ginger and fresh cress in it which gave it a little something. Definitely a tasty starter. The portion is pretty small but it’s really tasty.

The beef filet (EUR 21.50) accompanied by …

au gratin potatoes (EUR 3.20) was tender and tasty. It was a good filet, but not much more than that. Not overwhelming in taste – just a regular good beef filet. But at least it was cooked exactly the way I’ve requested it!

What was a major no-go though was the fact that the waiter didn’t manager to bring the starter first and the main course after – we got both together on our tables. Right exactly at the same moment. It was not that much of a hazzle because the starter was pretty small so you wouldn’t have to let it get cold but still, it’s an absolute no go!

The cheese platter (EUR 12.00) accompanied by fig mustard was not bad – but there were only three kinds of cheese, secondly, they waiter didn’t even tell me which cheeses were on the plate. A bit disappointing – it’s the least you should be able to expect when you’re eating out and having cheese.

The red wine is also pretty fair in price (EUR 28.50 and EUR 36.50 for a bottle) and it is okay. Nothing massively fancy (the Antorini Tignanello would have cost EUR 119.80) but good sound wine for okay prices.

The waiter was friendly and as helpful as possible but sometimes he was just not around when you needed him. But in general, he was doing a good job.

The atmosphere in the place is pretty nice too. It’s a bit dark to eat but as the place usually turns from a restaurant into a bar/club, it’s fine. The lounge/bar area is nicely furnished and the atmosphere is good in general. Only the music is a bit loud when you’re eating there, but besides that okay.

In general, I can recommend the H.E.A.R.T. as a restaurant – because the food is cheap and pretty tasty. The atmosphere is nice and, in general, the service is okay. The only real no-go is the fact that they’ve served the starter and the main course at the same time!

Close to the H.E.A.R.T. you can find quite some restaurants and bars like the Lenbach, the Anna Bar, the 089, or the sugar nightclub.
