17. October 2011: Restaurant Der Pschorr

| October 23, 2011 | 0 Comments

The beef steak with salad (EUR 15.90) was eatable. The meat was medium as requested but the quality of the meat was very medium too, not bad but definitely not top-notch. The salad on the other hand, or rather the different salads, were quite okay. The sauce was a bit boring but it was okay. EUR 15.90 is quite high for this kind of dish, especially taking into account the quality of meat but still acceptable.

A “Helles” (German beer) costs EUR 4.30 and a “Schnitt” (which is a glass of beer with lots of foam) costs EUR 3.80. I don’t get why people order that but well, I had to try it once and it is pointless in my perspective.

Anyway, the waiter was generally friendly and also capable of serving us the right dish and beer but he definitely was not of the quickest sort. It took him quite a while to take our order and it also took him quite a while to bring us the bill when it was about time.

The atmosphere in the Restaurant Der Pschorr is pretty okay. It is an old German house (might even have been a brewery once) where it is a bit loud, quite crowded, warm, and cozy. Overall, nothing spectacular but nice and comfortable.

Eating at the Restaurant Der Pschorr is okay – the beer is real good (do not order a “Schnitt” please!), the prices are at the higher end for a brewing house, the service is okay, the location is okay too. Go there for beers, do not go there for food – but if you are really hungry when there, it is okay to have something.

Close to the Der Pschorr is the Restaurant Zum Goldenen Kalb, which I can definitely recommend (Review 24. March 2011 / Review 1. September 2011) as well as the Restaurant Valentin-Stüberl.
